Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has acknowledged that the FBI told his company to be on the lookout for supposed Russian misinformation on its platform before the 2020 presidential election. He said his company restricted sharing of information about Hunter Biden’s laptop due to the federal law enforcement agency’s warning to his team about Russian propaganda.
The social media CEO’s admission of FBI involvement in this censorship follows whistleblower claims of an organized operation within the bureau to prevent a meaningful investigation of controversial reporting on the president’s son before the 2020 presidential election.
